Join a good cause this 2019 with the Melanoma March in Coolangatta. Aiming to raise funds and awareness for melanoma - “Australia’s national cancer” - this fun community event will invite people of all ages and backgrounds to walk along the foreshore of Coolangatta Beach wearing uniquely coloured wristbands.

Melanoma, which is a cancer of the skin, is the most prevalent cancer among Australians, causing one melanoma-related death every five hours. Both research and awareness are vital in battling melanoma, which can be successfully treated if detected early. The annual Melanoma March in Coolangatta, Gold Coast, attracts walkers from all over Queensland in a bid to show support for melanoma sufferers, promote awareness among Australians, and raise funds for both research and treatments.

The event begins and ends at The Strand at Coolangatta, involving a 4-kilometre walk along the Coolangatta foreshore. It’s a reasonable distance for all ages and capabilities, in which all participants are encouraged to wear coloured Melanoma March wristbands to show their story. Wear green if you're currently struggling with melanoma, orange if you’ve sadly lost someone to melanoma, or yellow if you’re marching to show your support for others as well as anyone that you may know. After the walk, there’ll be food, drinks and conversation continuing at The Strand.

The 2019 Melanoma March is expecting to be the most successful yet. Join the walk for 2019, which will take place in Coolangatta on the morning of Sunday, March 3.

If you’re planning on visiting the Gold Coast this autumn, make sure to save a morning to take part in the 2019 Melanoma March in Coolangatta with Pacific Place Bilinga Beach.
